About SexiQL
I’ve spent years looking for a SQL client that felt macOS-native. DBeaver is alright, but I was never a fan of it. pgAdmin has been my daily driver for a long time, but it’s heavy and has a learning curve. psql is great, but I believe GUIs are more relevant than ever.
I wanted a DB client that’s fast, lightweight, native, simple and works well with local models. Also, it had to be free and open, with no license or subscriptions. Existing solutions came with tradeoffs, either paid, heavy, dated or limited.
I eventually decided to build my own SQL client, but told myself I would only ship it when it objectively became my daily driver, with no ifs or buts. It took a lot of iteration and product thinking, but SexiQL is now my preferred database client, and I cannot go back.
SexiQL still has a few rough edges, but it’s free, open and built for macOS from the ground up, and I’m sure you’ll love using it as much as I do.
